I don't buy a whole lot of manga and Borders indulges in good sales, so it probably won't affect me too much. Between this and Shojo Beat's end though, it does show that Viz apparently feels the need to take special measures to keep itself viable. Not that this means that they're in mortal danger, just that they're getting hurt by the current economic climate--which they cite in their official statement on why Shojo Beat got canceled.
The thing is though, what few titles I actively collect are actually Del Rey titles, and they already charge more than Viz. Which is fine, since the quality is great and I know that I'm getting what I pay for.
