Viz Media New Title Solicitations (Sep 09) Naruto Shippuden

Heck there's that so-called one hour special of
Everybody just standing and talking and looking at Naruto for a freaking hour on that bridge
That's just pitiful.
 
Because Pierrot is hoping that Kishimoto's finishing up so they can go full speed without fear of getting too close, in the meantime they're just trying to buy time until they can do that. It would help if Kishimoto was more involved in the anime the way Tite Kubo is with Bleach, it would make Pierrot more confident about picking up the pace.
 
I'm honestly surprised that Viz is putting Shippuden on single discs as apposed to a box set. I thought that they would at least release the first thirteen episodes or so, even though it doesn't sound like a lot actually happens within those first few episodes, let alone the whole series.

I'm more upset at Viz for still releasing these Pokemon Elements single discs. I was really hoping that they would announce Johto sets or maybe even the second part of the Battle Dimension season. I love Pokemon, but I wouldn't really buy these elements sets mainly because they're just three episodes focused on either a certain Pokemon/type of Pokemon. Besides, I find that having season sets is more enjoyable than a single disc since there are more episodes to watch and they're in the same season. Hopefully, Viz will release some Johto sets, but it might be when HeartGold and SoulSilver are closer to their U.S. release date, whenever that might be.
 
The only way I can see justifying the single discs is if the show is actually going to be on TV. Because I can see why they wouldn't want them available on DVD before they air on TV.

But we have yet to hear anything about it actually airing anywhere.
 
I was looking yesterday at how slow the Part 2 pace is in terms of episodes/manga

Part 1: 27 manga volumes covering all 135 episodes of the first half of the series.
Part 2: 11 manga volumes covering 117 episodes

Some of that blame goes to their pacing (and the rest goes to how often they put in filler arcs) of the opening "Rescue Gaara" arc, they spread it out over 30 episodes and no other canon arc has come close to that yet:

Gaara arc: 30 episodes
Sasuke arc: 21 eps
Hidan/Kaku: 18 eps

And then you have to recent 24 episode filler arc which was probably took a total of like 2-3 pages in manga to complete.
 
I know that PUSA owns Pokemon, but I thought that Viz had some say in when Pokemon DVRAB come out as well. My mistake. If that's the case, then I hope that PUSA will eventually provide Johto sets since it would be cool to see those episodes again. I haven't seen them in ages and it would be hard trying to find them on out-of-print videos and DVRAB.
 
And, because nothing really happens during the chapters anyways.

Eh, I wasn't planning on buying Shippuden anyways (since my interest has long since died) but wtf Viz? How do they expect to keep their fans if they keep pulling crap like this?
