Just a quick preface...
Looking up contacts "easily" is extremely important to me. I've been spoiled by Windows Smartphone (Moto Q) and the Takephone application on the Treo's so going to my N93 has been a step backwards as far as contact lookup goes. It's kind of frustrating to have to do the multiple keypresses for each letter.
I just stumbled across Vito QuickContact which, when launched, displays a list of your contacts which will then filter as you press numbers on your keypad. The difference with this is that each number is a wildcard for any letter that number represents. So, for the letter "R", instead of having to hit the 7 key 3 times, I only have to hit it once. Now when I'm looking for "Rock" it's only 4 keypresses and it used to be 11 keypresses (not included all of the mistake presses and subsequent "c" keys

It's a pretty cool app for contact lookups and for 9.95 seems like quite the bargain.
