Vista install B.S.

So I burned my copy of Vista (legit), to a DVD and I boot from the DVD and it goes blah blah blah Microsoft with the loading bar...then it goes to the Vista background which looks like this:

Minus the text...but then no boxes pop up...and the install just pauses there. WTF do i do?

Try burning a new DVD?

Burn the DVD again, or re-download.

i waiting 20 minutes and it came up, but after i restarted and tried again a bunch of times

they recommend your burn at 1x or 2x to ensure the disc doesn't have any errors that might screw it up.

pc specs? i doubt it's a system requirement issue, that would just make it run slow.

it could also be a corrupted download.

i don't think it's how he burned it

i'm using the original cd and i have the exact same problem

Vista does that when you install from bootup DVD. It sits for like 10mins before the installation starts. It basically takes like 5 mins after every click during the install.
So.. boot it up and go do something for 10min and come back.
Well at least it's like that for me.

So before creating a new thread. I thought you can install without using my product key.. but it won't let me.. any insight?

Uncheck the box that says activate online/now, and dont enter a product key.

hit next. select the version you "bought" / want to install. profit.

Strange I thought thats what you do, but still reverts back into the Product key box lame..
