Everything seemed all right about the OS, until i fired up hl2 and found this out

There are only 40 models in there and my FPS dropped down to 10 fps.
on XP however my frame rate was quite steady at around 60 fps.

i guess im going back to XP =/

my video card btw is the nvidia 6800 Go, and yes thats with the latest driver.

guess what. I run HL2 and it runs just fine. ATI is getting there vista drivers around while nVidia is. . . well nvidia is fucking slacking.

yes, i got 1 gig of ram. in fact my ram ranks a 4.4 on that test thing. while my lowest score is my processor which is a 3.7.

It should be able to run a game like hl2 easily.

i used the latest drivers and these beta ones i think they were 168 or something, they both were bad, 168 is what your seeing in the image. i downgraded it to 150 to see if it would improve, all it did was cause graphical problems and slow down the pc a tad. so i uninstaled it and im using the default vista driver.

Its the Dell inspiron 9300 if anyone wanted to know. Also i just found out my bluetooth device is barely supported. it works but not well and there isn't a driver for it

I'm using ATI. Just upgraded to Vista from XP.

Now all my damn games cannot play anything in higher resolution or graphics. Keeps shutting the games down when I try to change the visual settings.

It's got to be the video manufacturers fault that drivers suck. We all know MS hit their spec perfectly in Vista and DX10 has no known errors.

ATI fanboi's gloat now, yes, now that you're finally getting acceptable levels of support for subpar hardware in a beta-release OS. After all those years of eating shit, you're due for something better.

and you sound like an nVidia fanboy. subpar hardware? Their hardware has been good, although they haven't enjoyed the strength over nVidia like they did a couple years ago. It's good they flip-flop though, otherwise improvements would slow.
