I would like to connect my G1 via USB to my computer and view my G1 screen on my computer's monitor. Thus, as I browse and open apps it will be shown on my larger monitor. Does anyone know how to do that?
that was possible with windows phones. and it was great. viewing your texts, backing them up and so many other things. i'd love to see it for the g1. whoever said it would probably not be seen, please elaborate and show some evidence.
^That's probably running through an emulator. While I'm sure it's possible to connect the G1 to a computer and see its screen on the computer, there's nothing presently set up to do that.
You could probably even do it over wi-fi if someone ends up porting VNC or something similar.
Is this what you were talking about?

I'm sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I would be *very* interested in any news on this topic. Does anyone know if such an interface has been created?
I too would like to be able to view my android OS on my Windows PC monitor, manipulate it as if I were VNC to it. MyMobiler does this for WinMO.. but I'm seriously considering something on the android platform at next upgrade and I would like not to lose this functionality.
Not true. There is an excellent PC app that will do this here: http://blog.ribomation.com/2010/01/21/droidscreen/
And whoever said why would you want to do this is totally lacking in imagination. I love this way of demoing my app. The emulator cannot do everything that my phone can do -- like communicate with a Bluetooth device, for example.
I would love this app also, I had a program to do this on my palm and it makes doing things much easier than on the smaller screen. As you get older smaller screen (even Droid size) not as easy to read and use. Why fight it whan you have a pc and monitor in front of you.
