NR :]

New member
just saw this from my-symbian, i thought somebody might want it... video ringtone for S60 3rd ed from from company called SKYESTREAM & the Product is called SKYETONES - get it here

i have not tested it, though...

i read somewhere that the prior 3rd ed app skyecaller didnt work very well. sorry to threadjack. actually fsc by smybianware doesnt work all the time either (as ive read on this site and experienced on my own). dont these people beta test their stuff before release?

what would be the easiest way to create a video or various wallpapers with music in the background to test this feature?

like if i want to have 6 pictures of a cat made in video with music?

just curious if there's a quick easy way

There's some app somewhere, check www.symbianfreak.com's coverage of the Nokia Forum Pro awards, there was an app mentioned in there that did that, i think.

Can someone also check to see:

1. If this app auto-starts with a power cycle
2. Do a screenshot of RAM before installing and running and RAM after?

!! I didn't know that!!

**EDIT** just looked through the obvious places, no can do. I checked pulling up the video in the gallery, and going to the contact and there isn't any place to attach a video as a ringtone.

that's why i asked the question... lol....

it's something the SE can do stock.. a thought nokia had the option too..didn't use the e61 for calling so never tried it.. n80ie should be here friday

I think there was an app for the N90 that enabled it. IDK.

There's quite a few of the smaller, flashy things that Nokias lack in. For instance, caller id pics and the whole thumbnail routine. At one point, you wonder if anyone up there actually uses these phones and notices these annoyances. However, given that there's several 3rd party developers whose apps accomplish the same thing, it might make more sense to limit your out-of-box experience in order to encourage 3rd party developers. I could see how it'd be discouraging to create an app with a function and then have the manufacturer build that function into the device, you know?

agreed.. but then you wonder why s40 doesn't have "the little things" in it either... a phone should be complete IMO and the power apps should be what they spend time developing.. for example only now are we seeing a revised "ME" player

i need my damn smilies on nokia too!!! blah this may be a rough ride

Lol. Smilies. You know if you press the 1 key three times real quick, it'll make a smiley for you.

I agree that the s40 should be the "consumer powerhouse" in terms of having all the little "extras", though. Tons of things that us consumers wish we could just email the CEO and let him know.
