Ok...now I understand what you were saying.

Well, you're right, but in reality, if people were constantly being logical, this would be an entirely different world. I'm just facing the reality. I believe that this will not end up well, and the likely result will be increased bias.

I believe the people wanting to build this mosque are not considering the feelings of many Americans rationally, and they will likely face dire consequences. Hopefully not, but I don't like the odds.

Oh, and I'm not really unfairly associating. I recognize the difference very well. However, that doesn't stop me from seeing the likely results here, and understanding why. Not agreeing, just understanding.

I can just see armies of '80's F150's and CK1500s barreling toward the mosque with the beds filled with shotgun shells, diesel, and ammonium nitrate.

Of course it doesn't. but that doesn't mean its construction won't enflame other whackos to bring harm to the innocents that go there JUST because it's a mosque.
 
Tell ya what.

I'll make some cheap real estate by blowing up abortion clinics across the country. Then the Southern Baptist Convention (not associated with me) can swoop in, buy up the parcel, and build a nice shiney church there.

The one reason for that Muslim shrine to be where it is, is to be like the flag planted on newly conquered ground. They won. If a New Yorker doesn't like it, they should blow it up, or GTFO of town.

Meh...if you think about it, the 9/11 thing makes perfect sense if the mosque itself makes sense. I don't think that matters, or if anything gives a little cover to the relatively aggressive concept.
 
haters gonna hate but quite honestly id rather not see another international incident spawn from a domestic terror attack on a mosque.
 
You realize you are basically asking him to explain why some people have bad taste? This is, of course, objectively impossible. In fact what he probably means is that it lacks empathy. And despite the fact they may mean well, it will likely end up being a disaster. It is essentially a cultural difference.

In short, I think it lacks cultural empathy.
