Video Games turned into Anime/Manga

Well, as we know like how anime becoming into video game, many video games becoming into anime/manga.

Sonic X was not bad, well kind of. I did like the little re-telling into the SA1 and SA2 storys, but as for everything else. No.

Pokemon is still kicking, right? I personally love the first season of Pokemon. It got a decent story line that people can enjoy and action that gets you all hyped up to watch. But now, not really. Been a while I seen Pokemon. Oh, is Misty back? I miss her.

Street Fighter manga I been reading. Street Fight III I finished and I got the right idea of whats "New Generation" means. Also,I got all Street Fight anime DVD's (Well, not Street Fight II V).

So far those are the only video games that turn into anime/manga I can think of. There also a manga series of Zelda I'm reading. AND I LOVE IT! (Sorry, I'm Zelda fanboy here).

But there are some Video games I will love to see become an anime or at least a short manga series.


Some of you played it before, some of you didn't. But I love this game! Its a 2D side-scrollers game with 50 long level to play. Came out in 1997! OLD SCHOOL! Seeing it as a anime series will make my day. Hearing her say "Shake! Shake!"...oooo, thats all I need to hear! Or reading it as a manga.

So, what's your favorite video game that been trun into anime and or manga do you like? Or better yet: What Video game do you want to see BECOME an anime and or manga?
 
Street Fighter II The Animated Movie and Fatal Fury The Motion Picture are my two favorites; the former, for its fight choreography and full animation (not to mention being much more faithful to the games than the American series was, and focusing on Ryu/Ken as opposed to Guile), and the latter for its globe-trotting motif, epic music, and "less realistic but still enjoyable to watch" battles. Oh, and Mai Shiranui.
 
Personally I'm surprised they haven't made a Mario anime series. Super Mario Bros. Super Show obviously doesn't count, since that was American made. I think there was like one obscure Mario anime movie, but that was it. You would think Nintendo of Japan would want a Mario anime series, but maybe they view it as something too sacred to ever animate again.

I also think a Legend of Zelda anime series could work really well, if done right. I personally would have loved to have seen one based off Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, etc.

I mean, they made a Kirby and F-Zero anime, so it is puzzling why they haven't touched two of their best franchises, as far as entering the realm of anime.
 
There was actually another OVA I believe which casted Mario in famous fairy tales. Manga wise, I know for sometime up until it was cancelled that Comic Bom Bom was running a Dr Mario manga (the team behind that also did the official manga adaptation of SD Gundam Force).

Sonic's also had some manga series, mainly short lived gag titles. The first one is said to have inspired the creation of Amy Rose. A female love interest from outside the games being made canon in game...suck on that, Archie fans
 
Does anyone count visual novels as video games?

Also, it kinda bugged me that one of the Street Fighter Alpha movies address the character as "Gouki," as opposed to "Akuma."
 
For me, I am glad that they made anime adpations of the Megaman Battle Network and Star Force games.

I hope that they make an anime adaption of Mega Man Star Force 3 and Draglade.
 
A better Tales of Symphonia series is in order, that or Star Ocean:Till the end of time could work very well to.



Sadly from what I heard Star Force did not so well in the ratings to get another season so it ended with the second game series rushed.

And really the Megaman BN series was not very faithful with all the cross fusion it threw around, I wanted to see Alpha and a actually Megaman vs Bass fight! But the manga solved that for me so.. I'm good. ^^
 
I know that Princess Alena from Dragon Quest IV got her own manga, but I think it would be cool to see a full fledged adaptation for DQIV. Plus with all of the characters getting their own personal introduction, any adaptations for Chapter 5 would have kind of a Justice League feeling.
 
Star Ocean: The Second Story was turned into Star Ocean EX
Final Fantasy was given as anime in the form of Final Fantasy Unlimited
Rangnarok: The Animation is based on a video game
Both The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk and The Sword of Uruk are based on a video game
 
Blue Dragon has an anime adaptation and a sequel to said anime adaptation. Also there were 2 Manga series for it, on that was drawn by the same artist as Death Note/Hikaru no Go/Bakuman, called Ral Grad, and one that was more in the style of games artwork. I know that Ral Grad has ended.
 
Ive enjoyed most of the game animes but heres some I'd like to see.


Legend of zelda-This would be great as an anime

Kingdom hearts-I mean with Disney & square enix to back it up you know the animation would be AWSOME!

Phantasy star-This could easily work as an anime

Sonic-SonicX was Great, but I'd like to see a sonic anime with a few more retro sonic elements, and mabye one that adapts the Rush series into animation!

Super Mario Bros-They could make a mini series based off the old Super Mario Adventures color Manga!

Star fox-do I even need a reason a anime ver. of the Starfox 64 story would be awsome!

Disgaea-we need a new Disgaea anime with that can go into the 2nd & 3rd games!

Wario ware- Could possibly be the greatest Comedy game anime of all time!

Super smash bros OVA-this would be pure BLISS
 
I actually sort of enjoyed "Kirby: Right Back at Ya!" even though it was fairly kiddy. I dislike "Street Fighter II: The Movie" in spite of the nice animation and fight scenes. Finally, I really want to see a Mario anime as well, maybe made in a similar vein as the first three american series, but... you know, good.
 
I'm not sure about Custom Beat Draglade for Nintendo RAB. It would probably be just like every other generic shounen title.(with an s-CRY-ED twist)
 
And Dragon Quest was adapted into both manga and anime formats, there was the first Dragon Quest anime, which was made back in 1989, and ironically the main character Abel, was basically Yamcha in a Cherokee Indian outfit, seriously they were even played by the same guy , and then in 1991 there was the anime version of Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken based on the manga of the same name by the same guys who would later be known for Beet the Vandel Buster, and of course there were several manga versions.
 
Tales of the Abyss is another. It's probably one of the most faithful adaptations of an RPG I've ever seen. ...but it has its own share of flaws. Doesn't need to be changed though.

I'd like to see someone else tackle Sonic. Sonic X was just...eh.
