Can anyone relate to this? I have been on norco for about 4 months-currently take 1 per day. During this time I have found my mooRAB are very eratic and my anxiety is thru the roof. I have struggled with dep all my life but it seems to be worse while on vic. Can vic do this?Thx guys.

I've not had that issue. I'm taking 1 most days, just prior to leaving the home. It's for the pain in my knees and it helps the pain. So I've actually felt a little better in other ways which I think relates to getting and not being hopeless in terms of something that would help me tolerate my knee pain. This is the lowest dose.

However, there was a diet pill call Meridia that was out years ago. I took it and w/in 2 weeks had fallen into a terrible bout of depression. It wasn't really associated with the drug but I quit taking it just in case. A couple years later I tried the meridia again and it did the same thing only faster and worse. So it was my own trialing that made me know it had that impact on me.

Drugs are different for different people. Even if it's not happened to anyone else, it might be what's causing it for you.

Hi Scoopy

Any opiate can cause depression when used over a period of time. For me, the stronger the opiate and the longer I used them, helped in my downward spiral into clinical depression. Non-functioning totally. I had had two bouts of depression previous to starting opiates, but these bouts were mainly caused by very painful circumstances.

I am a bit confused as to whether you are taking Vicodin or Norco? Either way, the opiates can cause depression. another thing that could be happening is that you are feeling withdrawal between doses. That is what has led many of us to up the dosages over time. Like mimi withdrawal eqch day.

I really think you should talk openly with your prescribing doctor and seek his advice. Opiate pain treatment can be a double-edged sword for sure.

Good luck
