Vicodin and babys???

Me and wife are thinking were gonna start trying for a baby, Ive been takeing Vicodin for 6+ years... Everyday, Do i have to quit before we start trying? Dont just tell me yes, Because you think i need to quit, I already know that, But has there been any cases of damage to the unborn from the father using Vicodin during conception?

To be honest.. I have no idea if you taking vicodin would effect the health of your sperm.. However, if I think about this without doing any research I would have to say that Yes, it could be harmful. However, I am not expert so I could not tell you for sure.

What I can tell you is that even if it didn't effect your sperm to where it could be harmful in the creation process... this addiction you have will effect this child in the future. Ask the parents on here who have had to go thru withdrawals while having children to take care of... I don't think it was easy and they all said it interfered with being able to give the children the attention they deserve and it also affected their relationships with their spouses because they had to take on the extra slack... Now, I am not trying to give you a lecture by any means... I hope I have not come off as rude because I am certainly not trying to be.

I think to be fair to any child... it would be best for you to deal with your "issues" now so it does not affect them later. For me that was one of the MAJOR reasons I decided it was time for me to stop taking pills.. I wanted to start a family with my husband in the worse ways and I knew it was the right thing to do before I could take on the responsibility of another life... I had to take control of mine first.

Please know I said all of these things above in a caring way and am the last person who is judging anyone!
