Hi,
I've never posted on a board before but seeking support from others than can relate to me. I'm 34 years old married and have a 15 month old little girl. I grew up in a very physical and mentally abusive family. I turned to drugs at the age of 14. Tried about anything that was available. I just wanted to "escape". I had a bad car wreck in 1995 and that is when I was introduced to Vicoden. I have been using and abusing this drug for 14 years now. It is the devil! I have tried AA and NA plus 12 step and they just don't work for me. I'm a very private person and very insecure. These meetings make me feel even more shameful. My husband is convinced that it is the only way that I'm going to beat this.
Can anyone relate to me? I'm doing pretty good and have been off of the Vicoden for a few weeks now. Feeling pretty good. I'm feeling more hopeful. Just looking for someone that has experienced the same addiction and could use positive feedback.
