Vibration on a New C50T

Greetings to All!!
I'm new to this forum, and also the proud owner of a new '06 C50T.
This is not my first motorcycle (I rode a Ninja 250 for 2 years before buying my new Boulevard), however, it is my first V Twin engine bike.
The Ninja was a very quick and SMOOTH running and riding machine. I'm finding that my C50T is very rough in comparison. It vibrates so bad at speeds above 45 mph, that it feels like all of the fillings in my teeth are going to vibrate out. IS THIS NORMAL??
I've ridden my son's Honda Shadow (600cc), and it seems very smooth riding
in comparison. I just assumed that Suzuki had put rubber motor mounts on this machine.....was I wrong?
Thanks for responding! :fight2:

With that info I would say there is a problem with the bike, start with tire pressure 29 frt, 36 rear cold. otherwise take it to the dealer, you may have an unbalanced wheel or a bad tire. Some vibration is normal when the bike is new, should start to smooth out some at 600-1000 miles

Hey there Geezer,
I bought mine back in February and I only have found it buzzy once in a while, but especially in the feet. Having the feeling of your fillings shaking loose does not sound right so perhaps you should do as Danr suggests. I'm sure you will find a solution to it.

Take a close look at your wheal weights. My c90t had a vibration at 40 on deceleration. (sp). I took it to the shop and 1 mechanic thought it could be lived with. The owner rode the bike and said no were getting you a new tire.
The second machanic said if he had seen the first wheal had 1 1/2 oz worth of weight I would have said your getting a tire no matter what.

Check your wheals.

To eliminate the wheel or tire possibility, try running up the rpms while sitting still. If the vibration is still there then you need to look elsewhere...headers, exhaust pipe, motor mounts, etc.

And to add to hot shoe a bit, try pulling in the clutch while you're feeling the vibration and let the engine RPM drop to idle. If you still feel it, probably a tire problem, if it changes, likely engine related. FWIW, my C50 is really smooth at any speed. A bit of engine vibration as I go faster, but no real road/wheel vibration.

I just bought an S83 last month. The vibration is right at 40 - 60 mph. Dealership is saying not a problem... My mirror worked loose it shook so much. I thought tire or balancing. It does stop when I hold in clutch. 200 miles and really frustrated with dealer!!!!

Geezer- Welcome to the world of v-twins. The trade off for the low end torque is vibration at speed. People either get used to it and learn to love it, or they trade it in on an inline 4.

Randy- if you pull in the clutch and the vibration stops, obviously there is nothing wrong with the tires or any other part of the bike. It's just engine vibration related to RPM.

Thanks for the feedback!!! Have you ever heard of a thing called "Bar Snake" ??
They claim that if you put this rubber like tube in your handlebars it greatly reduces vibration???

Hello, Have had my C50 for about a month and use it as my daily driver, 1200 miles so far and I regularly far exceed thr speeds you mention but I have never had the experience you are describing. I would take it to another dealer and have them check it out..... Lovin' my C-50 so far!!!

btw, I have the "Suzuki" bags, windshield, and light bar added so we are riding essentially the same set up....

When I bought my C50 it had terrible vibration with the stock pipes. For some reason when i put on my vance and hines it went almost completely away.

Hi All:

I have an 06 C50T as well. I noticed the same vibration yesterday when I went out on the highway. I guess I'll get it to the dealer to have them take a look.

Yep, I just bought a 06 C50 about 9 weeks ago and only at high highway speeds I felt a vibration that make my vision shkey and my face itch,,,sounds weird I know. Anyway I put 2200 miles on it in about 8 weeks and traded it in on a 07 C90 about 5 days ago. Night and day.....

I de-badged her this morning and put another 100 miles on her today.. Lovin the 90 black smooth at all speeds....;)

I just got a C50t this past Saturday. I noticed more engine vibration than my Vulcan had. You have to remember, there is no balancers, like there was with my Vulcan. It feels more like a motorcycle now....
