I get the notifications, and all my settings are set on vibrate, But it won't vibrate anymore.. ? Calls vibrate & All so I'm really lost. I uninstalled everything that altered messaging settings & vibration still won't work.. Help???

wow. I don't know what to say. I think you tried everything that I would have done.

Call Customer Service, and they will troubleshoot your phone.

That will take a long time so call from a land line.

That would be my last resort.

If not then they send you another one.

Do you have "Missed Call"

If so you might need to update that app, or uninstall it totally

Try taking out the battery.

*It was another thread last night about this very thing

I had the exact same issue happen. I'm sorry to say that the only way I was able to fix it was by resetting the phone to factory reset:
Power off the G1Hold Home Key + End key for 20 seconds or until you see a “triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1″Open the QWERTY keyboard and hit Alt+WRestored! It will totally wipe it clean but the good news is that since your address book and calendar live on google they will be restored the minute you log back into your google account on the phone. The down side of course is that you will have to reinstall all your 3rd party apps. It worked for me so I know this method works. Currently I use dgAlert of txt messages and ChompSMS and those togther seem to work fine and not kill the Vibrate function for texting.

Used to have the Missed Call app, Unistalled that. & I have the Volume Control app. Is that another I shoulod uninstall? & Yeah, I think Im going to have to factory reset. Thanks all!

quick change to my previous post... I switched to SMS Popup from dg alert... DG is great but I like the pop up message better and it works like a champ with ChompSMS also. Very iPh**e like.

Yeah, I use all 3. Lol I like dg for the custom vibration (if I could get it to work, I like the demonstration vibration I set up anyways) & for the led colors, Chomp for the keyboard, and sms popup bc of the ... Popup. Lol, But factory reset resets EVERYTHING right? All my music & pictures are on my sd card, so they cant be messed w right?

Ladies and gents to resolve the issues here is the easiest fix worked for me..
Funny thing is that i check this site every morning to see whats new and noticed this thread and was laughing that this never happened to me.. funny thing never noticed my phone was doing the same bs.. Soo course i was in awwww and had to find a easier fix than a HDWR reset...
I remembered i turned off data roaming while back when i check the site and heard about the ridiculous charges.. sooo pretty much i toggled it on, sent myself a text through email and of course i got the females favorite a vibrate..

Go to settings >>wireless controls>> Mobile networks>>data roaming ---Switch on and off..

Worked for me and im back in businesss. Only if it would vibrate harder and longer

Aw MAAAAN,. I factory reset before I tried that, But I kinda feel like I cleaned my phone out ( in a good way ). So thanks to everyone that helped, I feel MUCH better!

Another fix that I came across that doesn't involve wiping the phone: install Sound Manager from the Market. It has lots of useful features too of course, but the installation process seems to have fixed whatever was broken with the SMS vibrate notifications.
