I have been given a tape by a friend and cannot get it to play in either of my VCRs. When I put it in, the screen remains black. I can hear what is supposed to be people talking, but the sound is low and warped. Sometimes in fast forward I can see the image of the film. Since I have no problem playing any other VHS, I know it is a problem with this particular VHS and not a problem with the VCRs. I would like to know if there is anything I can do to the tape without chancing ruining it to get it to play correctly?
