very important beta fish question?

Fish luver

New member
i want to know if male beta fish give sperm or something to the female cause i got a male and a female to breed, and i never see them doing anything, i investigate in the internet and people say that the male just squeezes the female and the female throws out her eggs. is this true?
how can she produce eggs if the male does not do anything to her, he only fertilizes the eggs after there already made by the female. how can she make the eggs ???

The male does squeeze the female, and as he squeezes her, he fertilizes the eggs at the same time.

I don't know PRECISELY how it goes but I believe he is spraying sperm onto the eggs as they fall.

Then he immediately goes down and seems to gobble them up... but what he's really (hopefully) doing is grabbing them (fish don't have hands!! What else would they use?) and putting them in the bubble hest (assuming he has made one).

Edit: Honey, you need to learn your elementary biology. Most female creatures create eggs whether there is a male around or not. If you are a female you release an egg once a month, that's part of your menstrual cycle. Chickens lay eggs without roosters around, but the eggs will never hatch unless fertilized by a male. The female fish does the same thing - she makes eggs no matter what, and then if the male is around to fertilize them when she releases them, you can have baby fish. If the male is not around, you will have dead eggs.
