There are often different cartoon shows based around the same property, but the execution is different. What characters have had very different interpretations? Also which interpretation do you prefer?
There are a fair amount villains that are different: the goofy Robotbik/Eggman from Sonic X and AoSH is very different from the evil Robotnik in Sonic Sat AM, likewise the light hearted Shredder from the 87 TMNT cartoon was very different from the pure evil Shredder in the 2003 cartoon. Also the sympathetic Mr. Freeze from BTAS is fairly different from the thuggish Mr. Freeze from The Batman. Personally I prefer the more sinister versions of Robotnik and Shredder, they provide more menace. Also the sympathetic Freeze is far more interesting the thuggish one.
Heroes can very different interpretations too. Raphael from the 87 TMNT is sarcastic, while Raphael from the 2003 cartoon is a hothead. The light hearted Batman from Super Friends is pretty different from the dark DCUA Batman. Now personally I like the hothead Raph because he is more true to his comic counterpart and the dark Batman has been my main preference, though the lighter Batman from Brave and the Bold certainly has his moments.
