Is there a virus going around that causes vertigo? I have had it since the latter part of Sept. and have spoken to several people who have had bouts with it too.

I heard of such a virus before. There are lots of reasons why one can have vertigo. Middle Ear infection could be one reason and there are many others such as viruses that can affect your nervous system. As with anything, we tend to read into the worst case scenario when we feel sick or are suffering from something. There are so many different reasons and ways one can be affected by something. I think one should keep this in mind otherwise you can go crazy when you read about those "worst case" options.

That said, I just wanted to tell you that I know somebody that had vertigo two years ago. It was considered a virus and it went away. Then all of a sudden the leg started getting nurab and became partially paralyzed. After months of trying to figure out what caused the leg "injury" it was a brain tumor and the person had emergency surgery to remove a big size brain tumor. I don't want to scare you with that story. But I think it helps to keep this in mind in case things do not get better and you have other symptoms. I wouldn't worry about it too much as there are many reasons but I just wanted to share as the doctors are often too stupid to figure things out and only there to diagnose part of the problem and prescribe medication. That's the medical industry works and operates. It's all about selling drugs. I myself was misdiagnosed for years as I gotten sick all the time and I was told it was a virus. It wasn't until I spent my own money on a MRI that I found a cyst in my sinuses that was the root for all my problems.

In summary, be aware of the various reasons that could contribute to your symptoms. Keep your own medical log for future reference and don't take your doctor's worRAB for everything. Also, don't read into everything too much but keep an open mind. Worrying isn't healthy either.

Whatever you have, best to you and a healthy diet is important at all times. I think too many people lack Vitamin D, just a general observation.

Thanks for your response.

You are right doctors seem to just want to give medicines these days without getting to the bottom of the problem. My primary doc did refer me to a neurologist and I had an MRI. I will be seeing her this week to discuss the results.
