Can anyone tell me if there is a feature in VersaMail where I can delete an e-mail on my pda and that deletion will synchronize with my Outlook Inbox on my desktop PC -- such that deleting it on the pda will also delete it from the desktop?

I am not sure whether the "delete messages on server" checkbox does this -- I do not think that it does.

I used to use another pda e-mail program (I forget now even what program it was). I used to do this kind of deleting all the time. I fell away from using my pda as an e-mail editor, etc. when I ran into some technical problems that I could not diagnose or correct.

I now have a new bluetooth capable cell phone which has lit a fire under my butt to start making use of these practical features again. My wife is the actual computer techie in the family, so when she set her pda and phone up with VersaMail, I decided to synch mine with the same program.

But we cannot figure out how (if possible) to set Versa Mail to allow deletion from the pda to carry over to the desktop Inbox.
 
Delete Message on Server should delete it when prompted by the PDA. The server is the desktop PC unless you are syncing with Outlook Exchange, then the Exchange server is remotely located at someone's company?
 
I have the "delete messages on server" checkbox checked, but it is not deleting them from Outlook. This morning I tried to delete two messages via the handheld. Upon synching, I got the following log relatice to Versa Mail.

Is there some setting in Outlook itself that I need to change to allow this 'remote' deleting?

My only other suggestion would be to check your hot sync settings to be certain that you are syncing via Versamail to your Outlook profile. It may be that there is a remote setting in Outlook but I haven't come across it yet. If I find it - I'll let you know.
 
I'm not sure how I fixed the problem... I ran back through the setup a few times and eventually got to where I needed to be. Thanks for your help! Too bad I can't explain how I fixed it for anyone else who has the same issues...
 
Interesting. I experienced the opposite. My TX used to delete on my server and suddently quit. No idea why. I checked the same setting you two discussed, and nothing made sense. still won't delete from server, no idea why. hope your fix lasts
