So i'm eligible for an update with verizon here in the next few weeks and while browsing through the available phones online I noticed that almost every phone requires a 29.99 data package. My husband has the blackberry tour. He has the data package on his phone which allows web browsing email etc.. I dont have the necessity for a data package because 1. I'm always at home with the laptop, and 2. He's got it on his phone. If we're out and about, we're together, so therefore the 29.99 would be an unnecessary monthly fee, considering I would never use the internet feature. Is there anyway to be able to use one of these phones without the data package, and use it as merely a phone? BTW i'm not fond of a "flip phone" i've gotten used to a qwerty keyboard, and theres no way I'm going back. All I need is my texting and phone calls, none of that excess stuff. Fill me in please.
