I'll cross mine for you too. I hope he was right. He's a great sales agent so I think he may know what he's talking about. Well, that's if they don't change the timing on it.
 
The thing is that EVERYONE on the family plan can call 10 numbers free...not 5, like the non family plans. It is actually a bigger value. The select plan has nothing to do with it, you simply have to have a minimum of 1400 minutes on a family plan to get the free 10 numbers.
 
Well you might want to read the fine print on all of the merger pages.

Verizon AT THIS TIME will be honoring Alltel contracts. They have no intention of honoring them for the duration of the 2 years.
 
You are exactly right. If you would have read what I posted earlier, it is total garbage. T-mobile has My Fave Family Plans starting at 400 minutes. It is just a way to get all Verizon customers to spend more money. In the article you had on here it said $89.99 or higher qualifies. I pay $99.99 and I don't qualify because they don't allow people with 700 minute plans to have Family & Friends. I am not married to Verizon like you are, Nick. I am tired of being charged more than all other carriers and just when they come out with something we think is just like other carriers, we are all disappointed. I believe when Alltel customers take a look at what Verizon offers and compares it to other networks, they will not be with Verizon.

They will only honor them until it is time for them to renew. Then they can either go with Verizon or leave. I predict they will be gone unless the plans for the Friends and Family include everyone and some other pricing comes down.
 
I am slightly disappointed that Verizon did chose to not go the easy route and just make it available to all...

It was a poor marketing move on their part. I never come close to exceeding my minutes; however, because everyone I know (except maybe 1) has Verizon...which is probably the main reason I keep them. I also enjoy their customer service...but as far as pricing...I agree with everyone here. But hey...it is an improvement from nothing to something (even if it doesn't help you immediately). Right now it is a "promotion" anyway. It isn't a set feature that they will keep or not. It is more of a "beta" program to see if users actually enjoy it...

I do urge everyone to keep complaining (primarily through email at the VZW Contact Us section). They do listen, just not well. The way this plan came about was because of customer feedback. This was also how unlimited plans came about (even though Verizon was the first to release a national unlimited plan, for big carriers).

I agree with you. I am in the same situation.

I am tired of VZW's stupid crap.

Let me list what VZW has done that negatively impacts customers recently
  • Have to have 1400 mins 4 this
  • Cut the NE2 to 50 from 100
  • Mandatory data plan for smart phones

Did I forget anything???

Now I ask, what has VZW done for us lately?? Really??

I spend (with taxes and state fees) almost $200 a month to VZW and cant get it, even though it says this in the promotion letter above.

"Customers on an eligible Nationwide Family SharePlan, starting at $89.99 monthly access for the first two lines, may select up to 10 numbers for their Friends & Family directory to share among account users."


I don't get it, the 1400 min fam plan costs $119 for two lines. What plan are they referencing above??
 
Crap! In the strongly worded email I sent the marketing officer...I forgot to mention my discontent with the lowering of the NE2 pricing. That does effect me...GREATLY, since I do take advantage of every upgrade opportunity.
 
You are so right Kttmf. I spend $99.99 for the Family Select 700 plan and after taxes I am at around $130.00. I know for a fact that if you were a new customer, they would take better care of you than if you were an existing customer. That said, they will have to do a lot to get the Alltel customers to reup with them.

I am done with VZW when my contract is up. I will deal with Sprints (as I have been told) inferior network and better pricing then over pay for a marginal, at best, better network.

Customer service and customer loyalty mean allot and I do not see that from VZW.

I have been a VZW customer for about 8 years and I am done.

Do mot upgrade your plan to get this if you have the 700 min plan.

I have 700 mins (2 lines $99). I have 2 additional lines.

I do not use all my mins for the month (wish they had roll over, they would prob only give roll over if you had 10 mins or less left @ the end of the month. hahaha)

If I want to add 10 Number to my friends and fam I would have to pay an additional $20 (plus tax and fees) a month to get them.

I would have double the mins that i would never use because i dont use 700 in a month now and I took 10 #'s out that would eat up my mins. (so then I would get even more pissed because I would be paying for mins that I never use)

Hahahahaha. Funny. The people that this would help out the most are the 700 min customers.

VZW is slick I have to say.
