verizon unlocking!

i heard to unlock verizon it has to be an esn or dec and not an imei ..and u have to dial *22804 is this true

imei = GSM phone
ESN or MEID = CDMA phone

only cdma phones will work on cricket, you will need the esn nuraber to give to cricket, and a cricket prl, and your NAM settings loaded on the phone.

you dont need to preload the prl on most verizon phones, by locking the phone to home only, changing the sid to your cricket markets appropriate sid, changing the min & mdn to ones used on crickets phone nurabers, and dailing *22804 you should be able to get it on cricket. by doing this you are forcing the phone to OTA on crickets network and by doing a force ota you are downloading a cricket prl. Basicly ghetto flashing

that will only work in a select few markets. most markets cricket does not own the channels that will allow that.

simple3.....you 100% right.....i tell this to people all the time. They ask me "dont i just get a verizon phone give cricket it's esn then dial *228 or *22804"....lol

although for some reason the new rebate forms for cricket want you to send in the "IMEI label" from the box... I'm still having trouble finding this on any of the Cricket phones I carry... lol
