Verizon: u740 vs. EnV

OK, folks, it's down to the u740 vs. EnV. I really like the bigger keyboard and better camera of the EnV, but I want a small phone after schlepping a Treo and then later a PPC around on a belt clip. The only catch is Amazon might not be able to ship me the black u740 right away, but they have the gold one in stock. The EnV can be here right away as well.

I'm torn between style at semi-reduced functionality and functionality at reduced portability. The camera is a big plus, but I don't take too many pictures too often. Anyone have any thoughts? EnV owners, how is your texting? u740 owners, how do you like the keypad?
 
I agree with Fatalilluzionz. My Cousin has the u740, and my other cousin has the Env. I personally think the env is better. and like Fatalilluzionz said, the keys are small on the u740. The one thing i like about the u740 is that its a flip phone, as well as a qwerty phone. I have the the old V, and I miss having a flip phone, just cause it was much easyer to end a call with, and with the env, if the keypad gets unlocked in your pocket, and starts calling to Tokyo, your in big trouble, and thats not a problem with the u740, but it's all your choice....man thats a tough decision.
 
Well, after considering all sides, I decided that I'd go with the u740. My reasoning is that the EnV screen isn't as high-res, despite its superior camera, but camera ability isn't really something that's critical to me. I would rather have a larger screen in conventional phone mode since all I plan to do is use it normally, and as for texting, I'd rather sacrifice key size and placement for an overall smaller phone.

I think if I didn't mind the size, I'd go for the EnV, but my smartphone days have taught me that size for functionality isn't always necessary since I barely touched the functionality of most smartphones.
 
I don't know how you came up with the u740 having a higher res screen. The EnV has a QVGA screen that is WAY better than the u740's tft screen.
The Env is an overall better phone. Size, looks, and bugs are all the u740 has. I chose the EnV because I would rather have a workhorse than a cute phone.
 
I just went through this dilemma, and I decided to go for the enV. I have 30 days to decide whether or not its too big for me.

The only advantage to the u740 is the size. It's buggy, bad camera, tiny keys, etc...

I think you made the wrong choice.
