verizon texting! help please?

my mom turned off my texting earlier today and she just turned it back on about 10 minutes ago and it still isn't sending messages. when i go to send a message is says: MESSAGE IS NOT DELIVERED: SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE.
now, i have perfect reception so that's not the service it's talking about. how long does it take for this change to take affect? Last time we turned it back on, my texting worked before she was even off of the phone with the people.

this may not be true but it may take until midnight because that's when they reset everything, i may be mistaken but you should try it any way.

try shutting off the phone taking out the battery for 5 minutes then out it back in turn it on then try it
