Verizon Retail Store Vs. Agent Store

I got a question, what is the difference between a verizon retail store and a verizon agent store? Maybe you can also answer the benefit...? I live in a small town where verizon does have the best coverage but the customer service her is awful. The little "agent store" can't process anything. It's merely for opening accounts and paying bills; Alltel's old bill paying kiosk took care of the second one up until now. I find it ridiculous that i have to drive 20 to 70 miles just to talk to someone personally who can alter anything on my account. Is my "agent store" just full of bartenders or should I be expecting more out of them? Very frustrating; overall has left a bad taste in my mouth. I miss my Alltel store...I miss my Alltel service...and I miss my Alltel phone company!!!

A Verizon Wireless Communication Store (as you referred to as a retail store, sometimes called Direct Store) is a store owned and operated by Verizon Wireless. These stores hold the beliefs that Verizon Wireless has completely. They are generally the best spot to pay your bill and upgrade. Phones are usually the cheapest at this type of store versus a different type of store.

Verizon Wireless Indirect Dealers (as you referred to as an agent store) is not owned nor operated by Verizon Wireless. They are their own company. Wal-Mart, in some areas are considered to be "Indirect Dealers", along with Costco, 4G Wireless, and previously Radio Shack. They have dummy dead phones versus live devices available at Verizon Wireless Store. You can sometimes pay your bill, depending on the indirect dealer. They may charge for this (unlike Verizon stores). They can process upgrades but you may or may not get all allowed promotions. They aren't usually known for good customer service and your products may not be covered by Verizon's worry free guarantee.

See if you can find another indirect store that can process more for you.

Also remember that the Verizon Wireless Customer Service Hotline at 1-800-922-0204 can do almost everything a store can do (except certain troubleshooting and software upgrades). Try them.
