Verizon Pricing For Newbies, Not Subscribers

Allot of wireless companies do this, but since i switched to verizon from Nextel a few weeks ago i will use them as my example and a true example at that. I switch to verizon taking the $69 razr V3m after rebate with a 2 year contract, now... a friend of mine who is a verizon customer with out a contract wanted to renew his contract and get the razr... but it would cost him over $250 for the razr because he wasn't a new customer.

Anybody who looks at wireless companies today will see that all kind of deals are being peppered on the public giving away razr phones or for very cheap prices... so why would verizon not give a existing customer that want to renew their contract for 2 years the same price as a newbie who takes 2 year contract, a 2 year contract is a contract whether it

actually verizon customers get $100 credit after two years towards a new phone at contract pricing....which equates to a free razr in most cases. this only applies to primary lines and not family share secondary lines though.

Any Verizon customer can get the promotional price on any phone after the first year service. This is different, obviously, than the new every 2 plan described by TeamNeon. This means that your friend should have been able to get the V3m for the same price that you got it, as long as he has had an actual monthly service plan for at least 1 year.

Also, did your friend go to a real Verizon store, or just an authorized retailer? That makes a difference as well. The company stores are able to do a lot more dealing than the franchises. Just a thought.

I got my phone from a reseller for $50, I love it. I think the kid was desperate though because he threw in a belt carrier & car kit for nothing, got to love the young desperate salemen...lol.

We have a family Share plan but with DH's phone being the primary line he gets the $100 credit and I just get a phone at a discounted price, this time he will get one in the $100 limit and we will pay for mine... hopefully when we get ready to do it( In January) there will be some good phones on BOGO( buy one get one).

Next time you use the new every 2 promotion, have Verizon switch your primary line to your number instead of "DH's". You can do this anytime you want to, but when you do, it will reset the 22 month counter on the NE2. Don't be misled, the primary line has nothing to do with the name on your account or bill. For instance, my wife is the primary on our family share plan, but the account in in my name.

It's also possible that your friend went to an indirect dealer as opposed to a corporate store. Indirect stores have different prices than corporate most of the time.
