Verizon phones...Costco or online?

Hello everyone,

I have Sprint now which isn't getting good coverage in my area....which is a small rural town.

Verizon has bought Alltel here...when it will take over I have no idea nor does any Verizon people know. Verizon still says I can't get coverage there.

My problem is this...I want a local number AND verizon as my carrier..is there a good/cheap place online to buy phones and a plan...and get a local number even though they say I can't get coverage?

I'm now trying out phones from Costco (I've had them for 3 days) and get good reception but they have a very limited number of Verizon phones. The pricing is good on the phones/plans but...I was hoping for low prices and more choices in phones.

I called Verizon online and was told I don't have coverage so they won't sell the phones....Costco had no problem giving me phones...BTW..I'm getting great coverage and will continue since Verizon bought Alltel: which is in my town.

I'm rather phone challenged and need help from you experts.

Thanks

roughly where do you live if you don't mind me asking?

As for the local number this will not be possible unless you port over your local Alltel number that you currently have, again bringing you to the point of finding somewhere that will activate for you. have you tried finding an address of a friend or relative in the Verizon area, and then switching it online after you have set up account?

Hope this helps, any more questions feel free to ask

Now Costco has a much larger selection of phones online at their mobile phone website. You can get there from their Costco website, or directly from Membershipwireless.com
