Verizon: LG-VX6100 or wait?

I currently have an LG VX6000, and got an LG VX8100 when my NE2 came up. After one week, I brought the 8100 back to Verizon. I find the fonts too small, and the blinking black cursor while I type a text message difficult to read additionally. I didn't find the phone reception great either. I re-activated my old VX6000. I looked in the store and noticed the 6100 is still available, much like my 6000 and easy to read. I am not looking for vCast or any amazing bells and whistles. A camera phone is nice, but I have a good digital camera for that, so the camera quality on the newer phones is not really a wow factor for me. I use my phone for calling and texting, and I like a fairly sharp (clear) display.

My question is: Should I get the 6100 now (the 6000 is dying) or should I wait a couple of months and see what comes out? I looked at CNet and what they showed in Las Vegas for the electronics convention and nothing knocked my socks off. Would you invest in a 6100 at this point, knowing you'll have it for two more years?

I would stick it out with your VX-6000 until something better comes out. My sis used to have the VX-6000 (she had it for about 2.5 years/30 months) and only replaced it after she dropped it and the battery would keep falling out. She got a Samsung SCH-970 and it is a big improvement. The VX-6100 does not differ much from your current phone. If your phone still works, I would wait for your needs.
