Verizon is bound to lose many customers

tavenger5, here is some more reading for you and everyone else.
Here is my latest update. After getting on the President's page, I decided to contact him by e-mail. I put everything in the e-mail that I have put on here. One of the people in his office called me the next morning. One problem, I put my cell phone number in the e-mail and he called my house. Anyway, I called him back that night when I got home. He did not return my call that night. Their office hours are 7:00am - 4:00pm, central time. I called him back the next morning and had a 45 minute conversation. Lets just say the top Verizon people don't have a clue. I was told that the mandatory data plans were put into place to protect us from accidental data usage. I have data blocked on my daughter's phone and mine. I asked him how he was protecting me personally. He was quiet. I then asked why I was forced into the data plan when I know how to "protect myself." Again quiet. I told him our choices had been taken from us by limiting us to the junk simple phones. He said they were not junk, but ber nice phones. I beg to differ. Through the whole conversation, I don't think he really listened to me. I gave it my best. Towards the end, he actually offered me a job. I declined saying I can't sell a product I don't believe in. He then admitted that the office had fielded over 1000 calls on this issue. I then asked him to do some math. If 1000 customers like myself leave Verizon, that means Verizon would lose $2,200,000 in a 2 year period. Again he was quiet. He then made the comment that I done my research very well. I then told him that Verizon has lost touch with their customers. He disagreed. His next statement blew my mind. He said, "Speaking as a cunsumer, I agree totally with you." I asked, "What about as a professional?" He said, "No, I don't think that way." I then told him that is proof that Verizon does not listen to the customer. The conversation pretty much ended there. He again said I was the most professional speaking person he had spoken to about this. I told him it still didn't change my mind about this. He said I now have their number so call anytime I have something to say. I will have to think about that. Everyone needs to go to this link: Executive Leadership and go to the bottom of the page and click on "Contact: Lowell C. McAdam". Send the e-mail to him requesting that they call you and leave your number. The more that do this, the better chance this will change. After doing so, please update us here!

A few weeks ago, I inquired about the Motorola Droid phone with Verizon. They told me that because I've been with them awhile, I'm eligible for a $50 discount (I am on the lowest calling plan. If I was on the bigger plan, I could get $100 discount). This makes the phone $149 with a 2-year contract.
Well, last week, the phone went on sale, buy one get one free. I inquired, and was told, yes, for that same $149 fee, I could now get TWO Motorola Droids! Well, I certainly had to take advantage of that: $75 each?!?
Yesterday, I arrived at the Verizon store on North Buffalo Drive in Las Vegas, Nevada and was very pleasantly helped by Julieta. She has been at that store for several years, and is never tired or weary of my constant questions and concerns. Best of all, she gave me the exact deal I was told I should get, and now my wife and I have two great phones on what I consider to be the best cellular network around.

Thank you Verizon.

Yes, but now you are paying a mandatory $29.99 data fee for each of your phones. If you use data, I guess that is alright. This forum is about those of us that don't use data, and there are many of us, and are being forced to get a data package for a minimum $9.99 a month per phone for any of the multi media phones. We are limited to the junk simple phones. I hope you enjoy your Motorola phones. I have had them in the past and will never get one again.

I agreed to the unlimited data plan to get the most out of the Motorola Droid. It isn't as much fun without the bells and whistles.

If I wanted a simpler phone, like an env Touch, I would have signed up for the limited data plan then killed it in month one, blocking all internet access to the phone.

I did that with the aforementioned Touch when I got it for my son. Yeah he hates me but with the unlimited texting for the Family Plan, he survived just fine.

The problem is that you can't cancel the data package. If you block it, you will still pay the data fee. I guess they didn't tell you that. That is another problem with Verizon. Their sales people are not informative at all. This thread is not for people like yourself that want to pay the fee for data and go online. It is for those of us that don't want that fee shoved down a throats just to get a decent phone. Please go to my previous thread and click on the link directing you to the Verizon forums and blogs. There are about many pages of people complaining about it and threatening to leave.

Okay so up until this point, I have not had any real complaints with Verizon... until I just convinced my mother and sister to switch from Sprint to Verizon.
Thinking that it would save them some money, I had my them look into joining my plan that I have had for about 6 or 7 years now. They decided to go on a "family share" plan themselves so as to not mess up my plan, which I pay around $110 for... But for some reason the representative still put them under my account. Why, I do not know, because it did not save them any money, nor make any sense. If they were put under my account, shouldn't they have been exempt from the start up fees? I would think so, but apparently not.
So I receive their first bill b/c it has been mailed to my address, and not theirs and it is totaling near $300. Not to mention, this isn't including the new "phone equipment charges" which have been added to MY bill for some reason. So, I called Verizon and told them for future reference to please email the bill to their address, the address they shipped the phones to, and to please transfer the equipment charges to their account. Verizon informs me they cannot transfer the charges and instead I will have to pay it this month and figure out a way to get the check from them. hmmm- not sure how I feel about all of this, just pretty frustrating.

they lost me because i couldn't aford the bill, but'll be going back as pre-paid
