verizon internet use & data question

Okay so I have the month to month plan on my samsung intensity with verizon wireless and I chose the select plan;

60$ - Unlimited Messaging...

My question is it has the 1.99$ per MB... so that means I cannot get on the internet at all without having to pay for it right..?

That's a rip off if it's true.

Yes, you will be charged $1.99 per megabyte (about 100 pages of internet browsing from your cell phone).

Really, it isn't a rip-off. It's about half of what other carriers charge for the same service. They used to take minutes instead of charging extra (which I felt was better)...but as people use cell phones differently, newer plans are made to keep up.

Yeah Verizon is shooting themselves in the foot with these new prices. I guess now that they are the largest US-Based wireless carrier, they want to jack up the prices and lose customers.

Just to give some feed back on this questions. There's a few different options Verizon offers for data user. Depending upon your estimated data use or what you think you will use ; you can get iether of the two Data Features added to your Basic of Select Plan, one is the 25 MB for 9.99 and the other is the 75 MB for 19.99 (I have this one on my select plan). If you feel that you are going to use far beyond the 75 MB feature, I would recomend upgrading your price plan to the Connect PLan, with that plan the the access charge is about 20 dollars more than the Select Plan, however, for that 20 dollars diffeence you get both unlimint text/pix/flix messaging and Unlimited Data. This is a great options for heavy users of Mobil Web.
If you have a data device that is WiFi capible you can opt for the 1GB or 5GB data Features.
