Here's my problem. I have verizon Fios, our router is located a floor down from my bedroom. I play xbox 360 online and i don't use wireless becuase the signal is to weak, so i plug a long Ethernet cord from my xbox into my router.
As you can imagine, this is very annoying and crude to have in your house. What i recently discovered was that i could take the router from downstairs and connect it to the cable line in my room and run the internet from there, therefore eliminating the long and crude Ethernet cable.
Now knowing this, I cant keep the router in my room, and therefore need another router or solution and i would like to go with the cheapest possible. Easiest solution would be buying another router from verizon, but they charge a WHOPPING 140.00 for an additional router(no thx). use another router? Cant find any routers that have coaxial inputs like fios one. I ran across a article talking about a "balun" which converts coaxial to rj 45, which could be a cheaper option.
If anything i said here would work like using like a linksys router as another access point or if you know of any routers with coaxial inputs. or any other suggestions would be great.
