Verizon charging me for data I dont use!

I got my phone a month ago, I noticed on the web site that data is being used. I DONT use data, I wouldnt know how to download things anyway. I called Verizion and they said I was downloading ringtones or something. I said "WHAT????"

And they also said someone must have took my phone and downloaded something! I am disabled and dont go out of the house and NO ONE touches my phone. How can they be charging me for data I dont use?

This all started 2 weeks after I got my new phone at the Verizon store, it stopped working and the they sent me a "Refurbed" phone and that didnt work either. Then they sent me a new one (which they sent me a bill for) and now they are adding data on my bill that I dont use. Are they doing this for spite that they had to send me a new phone?

P.S. They also said that when I plug in my cord to my PC and to my phone "without" being on the internet, I drag and drop songs onto my phone they also charge for data. Is this true?

What can I do about this?

Thank You.

I am so sick and tired of posts on here where reps have told people that they are using data when they drag and drop from the PC, these reps must be incompetent or something! Verizon contracts out there Tech Support by the way, I live not too far from one of the places HAHA. NO THEY SHOULD not be charging you any data of any kind. Especially if you were using your pc. Try very hard to have the charges reversed, ask them politely what the data usage was. You should sign up for MyVerizon too, that way you can login and see your usage online (I'm not sure how up to the minute it is) But that way you can nip it in the bud, and see what the heck is going on. Just keep trying to get it reversed over and over again because they should cave in if you didn't really use it.

Well, Verizon Wireless doesn't bill for data whenever you connect your phone to the computer...unless you tether the phone to receive wireless internet on your computer from your phone.

Verizon Wireless isn't known for billing inaccurately...they have excellent billing departments and they are one of the only carriers that make and create the bills themselves...without using a third party.

They can tell you EXACTLY what they were for...but not until they already bill you for them (usually)...this is because you aren't always billed for what they show prior to the bill end date. For example, #MIN may show you used 400 peak minutes...the next day it shows you've used 250 peak minutes...this is because their system was delayed and didn't know exactly where the minutes went. Eventually, their system noticed it was either night/weekend minutes or Mobile To Mobile, which are all free.

Once they know exactly what was done, you can argue from there. Most like you DID accidentally access data somewhere along the way...but they'll be understanding and usually will credit them...JUST BE VERY NICE...they'll treat you how you treat them...

Verizon Wireless doesn't bill you for warranty replacement phones/devices...unless you don't have an extended warranty and are out of the 1 year period.

Called Verizon again about billing me for some more data I didnt use. I was billed for data yesterday when my phone wasnt even on and I was in bed sleeping!

I had the same problem, also with Verizon. Even though these charges get sorted out (most of the time) it is annoying to have to phone their customer service every second month. I eventually got myself a prepaid with NET10 and now I stay in charge of how much I spend, not Verizon.
Funny thing is: I realized that I actually overpaid for what I got while on contract. I save at least $20 a month using the phone as much as before. Plus I have no hassles with bills.

I have had the EnV since it came out (the original.) I have NEVER gone on the internet to surf...the only data I use is pics and Wheel of Fortune (occasionally!) I went back and forth with the woman with her saying I was going on the internet and me saying I wasn't. They said I accidentally pushed the button and there was a reason for everything!! When I had 2 charges in the EXACT same minute...I was "online and receiving a pic." When the tower pinged in my city and 6 minutes later it pinged a tower almost 3 hours away..."it pulls from whichever tower it can"...total BS!!

I had one Verizon rep tell me they can see which MEID number is accessing the data and that occasionally they assign the number to 2 people, which could be were my charges are coming from. But, when I called they said no....the MEID number is for phone calls, not data. Does anyone know anything about this? I am frustrated and ready to bail!!

It happened to me again to! I was billed for data. I even have everything blocked on my phone. I called CS and I asked them why they are billing me and I still get the same old story that I push a botton. BS! I went even further, I got them to REMOVE my ISP now I will NEVER be billed for data again.

I CAN send and recieve photos, they didnt block that. I know theres a way they block everything its called National block something.and it does block mms messaging but what CS did was restrict my ISP so I can do all messaging.
