Verizon and unlimited texting (switched today)

Okay, so I've switched to Verizon from Sprint today, and getting the Chocolate 3 in Black tomorrow. Ordered it online at 3 PM.

So I was looking on the site and was very confused. I do not see any unlimited texting plans for ALL CARRIERS. They only have up to 5000 txts and unlimited mobile to mobile.

I know some of my other friends with Verizon say they have unlimited to any carrier no matter what.

Where can I find unlimited for all cell phone carriers? I switched to Verizon hoping this could be a part of my plan too... :(

Thanks for the help.

Verizon Wireless doesn't have a "package" for unlimited messaging to anyone.

You need to change your calling plan to the Nationwide Select calling plan.

They start at $59.99 for a single line plan 450 minutes. It is basically a plan that is $20 more than a basic, non messaging plan.

I'm confused. I have a family plan set up...

3 lines with 700 minutes. Maybe that clears things up.

I wanted to know from there if I can upgrade from that family plan to unlimited texting to any carrier.

Oh...
So I can't just add unlimited txting to 2 of the 3 lines with the plan?

I have the $79.99 3-line plan. This isn't good...

What can I do? The 3 phones (one is my chocolate 3) are coming tomorrow or Monday (if they come Saturdays...). Can I change it or am I screwed? It seems kinda... expensive with 3 lines an extra $30 for unlimited txting, don't you think? Maybe I can do two lines for only $20? My bro and I are 2 lines that want txting, the third my mom who doesn't need it.

Thanks.

No, it's all or nothing.

Just like AT&T's.

These is considered a more "reasonable" way to provide service.

You gotta think it is $20 per line. When you have a family plan, it's only $30 for two lines. Then $20 for the third one. You're technically saving $10...even though you don't need a plan for your mom.

Considering is would normally be $60 for 3 people, yea it's a good deal.

The standard price for each line on a single line plan is $20.

Okay.

I'm just used to old prices being much lower (like 1-2 years ago...)

I dunno if I can convince my mom to spend an extra $30 for it, when she rarely texts and we're trying to skim down on money. Ideas here?

I wonder if I can negotiate with Verizon since I can tell them at one point in time with Sprint I could get texting on 2 of the 3 lines. Really, in this economy, $30 for 3 people with unlimited messaging is kinda expensive, don't you agree?

I would spend $30, it's just the darn tax that makes it higher... :(

I disagree. The Verizon Wireless select plan was given a gold star from the national research for wireless. This means they believed it was the best offer available for what you get.

$10 per line for unlimited text messaging is VERY cheap. Some carriers have it where it's $20 per line or $40 for the family...

My suggestion is just to add the $20.00 unlimited IN messaging with 5000 off network messages...honestly, how many messages do you use a month? Considering anyone else you text with Verizon would be free with this plan and everyone else you can text 5000 messages...
