Vera Drake is Mike Leighs latest film, and according to the reviews so far, his best ever.

I know you can't always go by reviews, but the critics seem to be raving about this film, the performances, cinematography, direction etc etc.

I am looking forward to seeing it, am have no doubt it may cause some controversy, as its central character is a woman who performs abortions.
 
saw an item about the film early this morning on bbc news 24
their film critic raved about imelda staunton and mike leigh
the recreation of the era and the cinematography are superb

from what i saw imelda staunton will win an oscar
