Veggie garden planted where dogs used to poop - dangerous?

My parents planted tomatoes and peppers in an area of the yard where dogs had been pooping for months. The pooping stopped about 4 months prior to this. Is it dangerous? Are parasites and bacteria still a danger after 4 months?

I don't know if it matters or not, but my mom said the tomatoes are growing faster than ever.
 
well i dont know TOO much about this, but the recent salmonella outbreak has to do with the tomatoes coming into contact with animal feces.
