Vegetarians: Is eating fish or other seafood ok? or...?

Humans beings are free to eat what they choose. Don't worry about labels. There is no vegetarian club you will be kicked out of if someone finds out you ate meat. Don't look for validation of your diet from Yahoo answers. Please.

If you are asking if Vegetarians eat fish, the answer is no.

Vegetarians, by true definition, do not eat animals but can eat their by-products (like eggs, milk, honey etc.)

By definition, vegetarianism involves the consumption of NO products that require an animal to die. This includes all forms of meat, poultry, and seafood, as well as gelatin, lard, tallow, etc.

"Pescatarian" is just a stupid label to make "vegetarians" who want to eat fish feel better about themselves.

The American Heart Association suggests eating at least 2 servings of fish a week.

well it's all your own preference. I don't eat anything with like visible eyes(fish, tuna, shrimp, stuff like that) but i have eaten clams because i don't really consider them an animal.

Some people don't eat fish because or there beliefs or there culture but some people eat fish because they need a little protein because fish isn't an animal it is in it's own category the fish category.

I'm a vegetarian myself,

If you are trying be a Vegetarian, then No, if your not a Vegetarian, than of course, but even if you did eat some meat once in a blue moon, that still would make you non-vegetarian, but would make you pescatarian, it's part of being a vegetarian.

yes, it is okay if you yourself aren't vegetarian.
There are no set rules of what you can and can't eat.. So if you really wanted to eat fish and are vegetarian.. no one is going to stop you.
If you are a strict vegetarian with no exceptions then no, you shouldn't be eating fish.

well being a vegetarian means ''no meat'', including seafood, but sometimes you're gonna get cravings. It's not ''okay'', but you know it's your life and being a vegetarian isn't an obligation. I'd say it's okay to eat it, it's just not the best decision. Also as long as you're not eating it every day or every week. Just make sure it doesn't become a habit because that's when you just stop becoming a vegetarian for good.
