Vegetarians--How do you feel about eating fish?

Vegetarians, not vegans.

I've heard that many still eat fish which is in the meat group.
Just for the record, I'm NOT vegetarian and I think it's slightly hypocritical to eat fish if you ARE a vegetarian
For the "millionth time"??? This is the first time I've asked this question.

well u wouldnt be a vegetarian if u eat seafood..technically... but your diet lifestyle is ur choice if u feel eating fish is ok eat them.. its ur personal choice... but to answer ur question i feel eating fish is wrong but, theres different catagories of vegetarians.. some drink milk eat eggs, some dont do that but eat animal bi products some are vegans... its ur personal choice u dont have to conform to a category

Fish are animals just as much as cows and chickens are. Vegetarians don't eat fish because vegetarians do not eat animals. I see eating fish and calling yourself a vegetarian is no different than eating only beef and calling yourself vegetarian. If you want to eat fish, fine, but don't call yourself a vegetarian. Just because fish look and act different than your typical farm animal doesn't mean that they don't feel pain or should be any less respected.

your not a vegetarian if you eat fish!!! FISH IS MEAT! Vegetarian means that you eat absolutely no meat!!

AND if you do eat fish stop calling yourself a vegetarian you are a PESCATARIAN!

Lexi - how can you be veg for the animals, and still eat fish? Do you think they don't form bonding relationships, or feel pain? Why are they not worth your moral consideration?

Michelle - for the millionth time - fish are not plants. Vegetarians do not eat fish. If someone eats fish, they are an omnivore.

Please people - can we stop asking this question?

Bethie - fish don't suffer at all? Are you kidding me? Not a single form of recreational or commercial fishing spares them any pain. Fish suffer tremendously, and are one of the most abused animals that we consume.

Not to mention fishing is wiping out our oceans. Ever heard of by-catch? It's when millions of other species of fish and sea life, including dolphins, sea turtles and mantis' are captured, but because they are not what's being fished for, they are tossed back, dead.

You want to eat fish? No one's stopping you, but at least make an informed decision.

i still eat fish, i eat it because i think the fish don't have to suffer when they die like the farm animals do.

im not a vegetarian for the health, im one to help the animals..

I don't eat fish, but I don't have a problem with people eating them because they barely suffer at all. I DO have a problem with people eating whale, shark, and animals that have to be boiled alive to be eaten.

However if you eat fish you are not a vegetarian, no matter what anyone says. but that doesn't mean that you don't care as much as they do and don't make any less of an impact on the fight for animals to be treated better.

I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat fish. If you eat fish your not a vegetarian. I never did like fish, though. Vegetarians don't eat anything that once had eyes. So the "vegetarians" that told you they ate fish weren't really vegetarians.

That's basically macrobiotic. My father is a pescetarian; the only animal product he ever eats is fish. I mean legit, like, no dairy and no eggs and no honey. He is doing this for health reasons mainly. But also he only buys wild caught fish because they are treated better and aren't harvested in farms for killing like farmed fish are. I sort of agree that this is okay, considering that mammals like chicken and cows and pigs have much worse conditions and fish are free to swim if they're wild-caught.
