Vauxhall Signum - A lot of car for the money?

Ive been looking around for a medium sized diesel and have a £3000 budget. I've looked at all sorts including LWB A-Class, Peugeot 307, 406 and so on.

Ive spotted a Vauxhall Signum 2.2 Diesel with nice spec on a 53 Plate (2004) with 90K on the clock which is being offered at £2500 and on looking further afield, between 2 and 3K seems to be the going rate for these cars.

Considering i got £2400 for my 03 plate Clio at xmas time, the Signum seems to be a lot of car for the money and with parkers quoting the fuel economy of the 2.2 DTI to be in the region of 44mpg, it seems a pretty good package.

But why so cheap, has anyone got or had one or anyone know why they are cheap? Or is it simply because theyve never really sold because people looking for hatch would get an Astra and people wanting an estate would get the Vectra and theres no room for compromise in between?

Thanks!
