Vast Superman DVD Box-set

Shame it has Superman III and IV though, I bet they wish they never existed....

Although then again, I love superhero and comic book movies (even though I've never read a comic  ), but I've never particularly liked Superman for some reason, he's a bit bland so maybe that's why I didn't like those two. They do seem really unpopular though...

Woo im going to buy that, im a massive Superman fan. Seen all the films about 4 or 5 times (some more then others) and Superman Returns about 3 times. Nearly every episode of Smallville 2/3 times and even got a SM shirt (a bit obsessed). Wonder where i can order it

Go to www.play.com and in the top right corner is an international button, click that and you'll be taken to their US DVD site

It's not on as yet but it shouldn't be long

Play have a UK version but it won't be as good :( UK versions never are

I hope that the UK version isn't far behind. I'd certainly like to see the Richard Donner cut of Superman II. It should be very interesting to compare it with the original cinema issue. Good to see that both are included in this set. What about Supergirl though. I'd liked to have seen it included even if only for completists.

All the Super films are getting individual re-releases to coincide with the release of Superman Returns, including 2 versions of Superman II (normal and Richard Donner cut)

But the box is just pretty :D

Warner have a long held habit of selling R2 short when it comes to this type of release.
Assuming we get it at all there could easily be features missing.
R1 is definitely the best way to go on this one.
The only problem will be shopping around to get a good deal that includes or circumvents customs and import duty.
No R2 release listed yet for the special Forbidden Planet Collectors Tin either

To be honest Warner are a disgrace when it comes to DVD releases, surely it's easier to just re-region the US version instead of buggering about with it and deciding that us brits would never want to mail away for the posers

Actually I've just noticed have you seen the SRP $99.92

92 ???

Warner are strange.
The classic Time After Time with Malcolm McDowell remains unreleased over 4 years since it came out on R1.
Forbidden Planet has never come out on R2.
Same for Logans Run and Westworld.
And it does not appear to be anything to do with rights ownership either.
The O.C (teen drama) and Invasion all out on R2 with all the extras missing.
Its an old story.
Warner have released NTSC R2 discs in the UK before aswell so your theory would work.
Coincidentally, the majority of the Warner cartoon releases ,like Looney Tunes (loaRAB of extras missing on R2) and the tv stuff like Hong Kong Phooey,Top Cat etc are actually encoded for R1 and R2 and in some cases R4,but they don't get an official release outside R1.
Odd.
But with Warners track record,I'll pay extra for the R1 of this set

I so want this, iv been dropping hints to my boyfriend for a while to get it for me for christmas. He so isnt picking up on it tho! *cries* i want thisss!!!!
