Various IM programs

I really can't seem to get into any of the ones out right now fo rmy E70. Agile is a recurring charge, IM+ is $25, Ego doesn't seem to quite work when I reply to an IM I receive (the other party doesn't receive it).

What other IM programs are out there? I know many would prefer the data over text, but I think I'd prefer text since I have loads and won't have to worry about disconnecting or using other apps and hogging memory.

Maybe we can compile a list of IM programs? List some pro/cons, price and the type of data transfer.

Thanks!

Update: JohnnyChat WAS working great. It started to disconnect randomly so I just closed the program for a while, rebooted my phone. When I tried to sign on later, it wouldn't. It sits at the login screen. So I exit and try again. Sometimes, it says I'm logged in but doesn't show my buddy list anymore or show me as signed on in their buddy list. Is this something others have experienced or perhaps there is a problem with the AIM servers?

While I haven't tried it yet, there's also Shape IM+ that a lot of people seem to like:

I'm a little....hesitant to shell out 30 clams for some phone software, I think their price point is a little high. I've heard good things about it though, some people say it's better than Agile. *shrug*

IM+ has a nice UI. BUT, they are lagging on fixing their AOL IM implementation in the current version for S60v3. They've already fixed it for other platforms. I'm not sure what the delay is. I would expect better service for a product that one pays a pretty steep price to have.

Update: I've just downloaded an update that solves the AOL issue. I do not know how long it took to get this done by them, so my prior comment should be weighted carefully.

What ever the problem was before on JonnyChat fixed itself and I'm able to use it again. It's working great so far and has been the best, partially because it's free. I just really don't see why we should have to pay for an IM client on our phones if they are free on our computers.

It rests squarely on the shoulders of the (personal opinion) ill-conceived craptastic Symbian Signing process introduced in s60v3 that's screwing everyone over. Most likely they had the fix in place, but the delay was getting their app re-tested all over again from the ground up to get a new certificate. So not only does the developer pay the price, the end user pays it as well waiting on bugfixes.

$0.02 USD, yes I hate Symbian Signed and think it's utterly ****ing useless and doesn't actually do anyone any good, and especially bites freeware/open source developers right in the tuckus, not to mention the delay in bugfixes.

A solution looking for a problem that never existed (don't anyone even try to say "viruses! trojans!", that's such a red herring).
