On tonight CH 4 i think..I like watching this film, but its confusing..Have to watch it a few times, cos not sure if he's
dead or alive at the end...

This remake always seems to get slated, but I actually find it perfectly acceptable, not great, or even particulary good, but not rubbish. It just a film that makes you think a little.

Whereas the best thing is Penelope Cruz and her boobies, both in this and the original. :D

The sound design is brilliant.

Still enjoying it. . . just at the bit where Cruise has been told "what's up with your face?!. . . .there's a seam opening up!!" and shits himself.

I had these guys doing technical work at work and were talking loudly amongst themselves but thank god for subtitles! I was really worried i wouldn't be able to piece the movie together but it does get wrapped fairly well at the end

Yep wrapped up very well I thought, everything was explained OK, which makes a refreshing change to a lot of similarly enigmatic films which leave you guessing. Vanilla Sky never copped out, I nearly gave up after about twenty minutes but i stuck with it and was rewarded, because it unravelled quite well. I found it a strangely haunting movie, an unuual blend of different genres.

It's a very thought-provoking film, on many levels. The consequences of our actions, how we imagine life with people who we imagine are our true loves.

It's also a great intro to the music of Sigur Ros.

The original had the pace of a funeral. Apt perhaps considering the subject matter, but on many levels Crowe's imagining is better.
