rainstorm- wow I think I'm looking forward to him battling Dracula. The wings on that thing look amazing.

dixie - awww he looks really sweet there (even with the bowl haircut)

I liked Van Helsing. It's a given that I'll end up buying it on DVD the day it comes out, but I will say there's one thing that I didn't like in the movie. The ending.

The more I think about it, the more I hate it. It's such a rip off of Indiana Jones and Star Wars, and hell, even Lion King, it's like they coudn't come up with an original way to end it. That really affects the movie, IMO. It was great up until after he realizes he's killed Anna, and then there's what I called the "WTF?" ending.

Speaking of Carl - he was hilarious!
I liked ith how the movie wasn't taking itself too seriously, ya know? There were still some jokes in it that mad it "more easy-going".

Hey, E_E, I found a pic of David as the monk!

Go to page 2, and David's pic (with Kate) is labeled vhnew16.

I'm a big wary about VH, soley on the grounds that the trailer looks amazing but I thought that with LXG and look what happened there, eh?

Hopefully, it won't turn out like that. Sommers did both Mummy movies so the fact that he's directing is something of a good sign.

Plus, its got Mr Wolverine himself...rawwwr; and the lovely Kate Beckinsale, too...

if i recall even in the books they could. i know dracula could so it stands to reason they might be able to.

All I can say is that I can't wait for this movie to come out in May. Ever since sometime last year, I've been waiting. I love Hugh Jackman and I know it's going to be one Heck of a movie!!!

Oh and those were great articles, thanks!!

I just saw this movie the other day :D

I didn't like the opening scene much..got a bit confused with it, and the end... that was sad.

But overall, I liked the movie :)

in dracula, his name is Abraham Van Helsing, but in this movie they seemed to have changed it to Gabriel Van Helsing. Van helsing is his last name. van isnt his first name.

Yay Jenna. Anyway I found out who David is playing. He's a monk (I'm thinking he's going to have one of those bowl like haircuts!)

This article is from sci fi channel.

Wenham Qs Up In Van Helsing

David Wenham, who plays Carl in the upcoming supernatural film Van Helsing, told SCI FI Wire that his character is a weapons maker for the title hero, played by Hugh Jackman. "Carl ... is a monk who invents extraordinary weapons," Wenham said in an interview. "He's sort of like a very period Q [from the James Bond films]."

In the film, Carl gets a chance to leave his chambers and pursue adventure with Van Helsing, who is on a mission to hunt down vampires and other monsters. "He's somebody who's spent his whole entire life deep underground in this monastery, but for this particular time, he's told by his superiors to go off with Van Helsing on this mission to hunt down Dracula," Wenham said.

Wenham will soon be on view in the Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, reprising the role of Faramir from The Two Towers. Van Helsing was a total departure, Wenham said. "The fight sequences [in Van Helsing] involve totally different forms of weaponry, and the genre is totally different as well," he said. Universal Pictures will release Van Helsing on May 7, 2004.

Universal Pictures is owned by Vivendi Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM.

I'm starting to branch out a little more and post on more boards. You'll probably see me around!

I haven't seen new David pix, but I'm going to look for some and if I find any, I'll post 'em for you.
