Van Halen

I've always enjoyed the "Roth era" recorRAB the best, I just think DLR is the ultimate frontman, and possibly, IMHO, the greatest frontman of all. Everyone wanted to be him/like him. The whole band was great, I especially like the discs:

Fair Warning
1984
Women and Children First
VHII
VHI

Think that, at the time, there was probably no other band that could touch them. I've seen them 3 times(all w/DLR), and they were ****ing awesome. Dave does a 30 minute sword/knife/karate thing for the 1984 show, amazing.

Great thread, VH is one of my all time favorites. I wish they'd finally release that long awaited(and WELL OVERDUE) box set they've been talking about for years, I'd be in line for that.

I hear they're in the studio as we speak working on new material? I've also heard it sounRAB ALOT like the old stuff? if that's true, i cannot wait for it's release.

I prefer the DLR era as well, although i think that Hagar gets wayy to much ****, he was a decent frontman.

I haven't heard of the new studio material, but if eddie and roth are actually planning on working together it will never happen, they've tried getting back together once and got royally pissed at each other all over again.

I went to the most recent tour myself and all he did was pull out one of the metal poles holding up a microphone for a crash and start twirling it around for like 5 minutes.

I'm just popping in to apologize for being so late on those album reviews I've been getting project after project since school has started and haven't really gotten a chance to sit back and relax. Ima try and get one up this weekend
