V3xx vs N75

Thanks, I found a discussion on that at http://www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/1032294-1.html. The C417 requires a vintage SIM. And it may be the case that a 3G phone won't work properly without the current 3G SIM. Still, I don't know what Irish meant when he wrote "I'm not sure if the phone will read most settings from your SIM anyway." I presume that when Cingular releases the N75, it will use SKU 73000. If so, an unbranded N75 would take that SIM as well, unless I am seriously, if not catastrophically, mistaken.

If you just care about speed, go with the V3xx. I did a side by side comparison of the V3xx (3.6 HSDPA) and a pre-release N75 (UMTS) with streaming video and the Motorola wins, hands-down. Load-time is almost nothing.

But if you care other things, go with the N75

No clue as to the exact release of the N75. It got technical approval from Cingular yesterday, but I believe there are DRM issues to be worked out still.

As for the N76, I think it's premature to expect it so soon. Some protos have been floating about as of late. I believe it was only announced in January. We shall see.

Well i heard word from a distributor in hk. Maybe he was wrong.. Im just passing the info he told me.. But then again i didnt believe much on the N76.. Maybe he was right about the N75... Will see as you said.

What are the differences between the two phones if i may ask? I dont remember any.

>>You're right in the sense that there isn't any difference in watching video, the very noticeable difference is the loading time for streamed video. UMTS takes a few seconds to load, while HSDPA 3.6 is almost instant.
