v3m getting lousy srevice?

I have a verizon v3m and as a newbie I flashed it to cricket, the text and audio is fine, but a few problems I'm having are : sometimes it wont ring if the person isnt in the phone book, it doesnt show missed calls, and it cant seem to find the tower most of the time, its searching signifgantly more than other phones? Any help would be great!
 
nothing i bought the phone, followed flashing instructions, and then got it activated on our account,
I didnt do any brew or any of that other stuff, i could really find what alot of stuff was for>?
 
It does not sound like the phone is the issue. I would call Cricket's customer service, explain the issue and ask them to disconnect and then reconnect your phone in the switch.
 
Not likely. First have it reloaded in the switch w/ Cricket. If that fails, you could have messed somthing up during the PRL load. That could be using an old PRL. It is also possible that the software is corrupt. That would entail flashing with the Verizon upgrade file.
 
I had it put back on and still i get one or no bars, while the other phone is getting 3 bars, and it works fins for about 30 sec of a call then drops it?
 
That rules out Cricket not fully/properly loading the ESN in the switch.

The only other thoughts I have:

1. something happened during the PRL load.

2. the phone already had an issue (possibly hardware) prior to flashing it.

Since a hardware issue may not be visible, the normal course would be to put it back on Verizon, relaod the latest upgrade file and test, then proceed.
If something got screwed up during the PRL load, the monster file might need to be reloaded.
