V3i Or W600 ?

WSOD = white screen of death

Do all of them have it? = Hard to tell because its caused by using java or hooking the phone up to your computer via USB. Some people never get it, some get it all the time. If SE releases a new firmware, then it should resolve the issue.

I like the w600i over the v3i for the simple fact that everybody and the grandmother has a V3 and there are no real styling differences between the v3i and the V3.

If you ARE in the market for a w600i, I happen to have one for sale. It is unlocked, with cingular and tmo settings already locked in, a CD full of Java games, and three faceplates (blue, orange, and white), with box and all materials !!!

** I swear this will be the last time I shamelessly plug my phone for sale **
 
I was having the same debate for between phones for my girlfriend. I currently have a k750i and I love this phone, so I was leaning for the w600i.

A main reason why I love my k750i is the expandable memory. So I have changed my stance and am probably goning to go with the V3i because the w600i doesn't have a memory card slot.
 
ya but the slot in the v3i is one of the smaller SDs (mini or micro... one of those) and they cant get very large like say a regular SD or MS pro duo, both able to get 2Gbs.
 
However between the v3i and the w600i a memory slot is better than no slot. I beleve u can get mirco sd cards up to 512mb, so a 512mb card plus the internal memory of the v3i is greater than the w600i's 256mb internal memory.
Don't get me wrong the w600i is a good phone and if it had a memory card slot i would take it over the V3i. Im a person who doesnt like a lot of things in my pocket so a phone with a card slot saves the space of a usb key that i use a lot.
The phone isn't for myself personally and its being purchased more for useful feature for her needs. Personally I have a Ericsson k750i with the w800i upgrade which basically gets the best of both w600 and V3i, card slot, 2mp camera, mp3 player ... but this fone is not one of the choices. The choice is between the w600i and the V3i.
 
Here is a COMPARISON between the two phones. I still think the w600i is better pick. (V3i has the bigger screen and a expandable memory slot) Even though V3i has bigger screen. Moto screens are usually worse in quality then Sony Ericssons. (IMO)
 
Well, from someone who has both, i can say that v3i is easily the better phone overall.

1. more memory w/ tf card
2. better pictures once up'd to your pc.
3. Camera is verrrry laggy on w600, v3i has no lag.
4. iTunes on v3i
5. w600 is probably THE most uncomfortable phone i've ever held in my hands. (bulky)
6. swivel design gets old very very quickly and is nearly impossible to open with one hand on the fly when your driving or doing anything else.
7. w600 screen is tiny. razr's is decent size.
8. SE's headsets are better and music is louder including speakerphone, and this may be the only thing i like about the w600 over v3i, maybe that nad the fact that w600's faceplates are so easily replaceable. Also, music transfers are faster on the w600.
9. SE's headphone and charger inputs are very cheap feeling. when you plug and unplug the phone, its very dissatisfying. (minor, yet very annoying for me)


I will say this, the w600 has cooler camera options like panoramic and burst mode and flash led (although the flash is pretty useless making pictures come out very orangish)... But for most people those features dont mean much when the camera is only 1.3 megapixels. And for some reaosn the screen is very slow when in camera mode. But overall as far as phone functions go, the v3i is far better then the w600 from my experiences. reception is far better on the razr too. The w600 was just too think and short making it uncomfortable to talk with unless the swivel was open. I get reception in my basement no problem while the w600i missed many calls.

10 out of 10 times i would go with the v3i but i guess everyone has their preferences.
 
Oh, let me also mention that on the w600i, when you take a picture, you must hold the phone in that same position for about 3 seconds before the photo is taken. Otherwise the picture will be shown blurry... i never understood why it was so slow. Also, there has to be a great amount of light for the picture to produce somewhat natural looking colors. Outdoors is fine, but inside a house, a ceiling light will not do it alone. Just thought i should let you know since this was another important factor in me letting mine go.

I guess just the fact that it was my 1st 1.3 mp camera i was expecting a bit more and was pretty let down by its quality. Not a bad phone, just not as good as it should be imo.
