Vstar classic, my wife has one, with a hyper charger, dyna 3000 ignition, and a nice set of custom pipes she has no problem keeping up with the big boys on our Harley's when out for a ride.
Shaft drive makes it smooth, but, it is not equipped with a radiator like a honda, strictly air cooled. In my opinion, radiators belong on cars, just one more thing can go wrong on a motorcycle.
Have run her vstar through the desert on a road trip when the temp was 107 outside, never had a problem. Use a good 20/50 oil like AMS oil and you will never have a problem with it.
And, oh yea, almost forgot, her's is a 1999 has well over 65,000 miles on it and runs great. Not a lot of bikes that size can make that kind of claim.
She smokes vlx's, and, with the addition of her mustang seat and windshield, 400 mile days are so easy she has energy to go dancing afterward.
