Hello Guys, if any of you could clear this up for I would greatly appreciate it, which years have the CAT in the head pipe, all 09, 10 ,and 11? thx to all in advance.

09 California spec bikes have the Cat

10 and 11 bikes all have the Cat

First thing to go on my 11 RK will be the header pipe with the cat in it

Dealers are still telling people they "Have to have a tuner" for a stage 1 (Exhaust and high flow Air cleaner). On post 2007 bikes This is false!

The factory ECM with O2 sensors is perfectly capable of making the adjustement for increased airflow and will adjust to the factory fuel specifications.

This does not mean a tuner will not benefit the engine on the contrary tuning the bike to the non EPA specification of Air to fuel ratio will enhance performance and run the engine cooler. The richer the mixture the lower the fuel mileage nothings free.

Point being you do not have to buy one when you buy pipes or enhance the air cleaner.

I ran my FLHXSE for 6 months with Headers, Pipes and it came with High flow air cleaner and it perfomed perfectly.

I have since added cams necessitating a tuner. But if your on a budget and want pipes there is no valid reason mechanically to require you to buy a tuner.

Both the power duals and the dresser duals are going to rid the bike of the cat and increase the sound and performance over the stock system. The main difference between the two is that the power duals are better at scavenging. They typically perform better in the 2200-2700rpm range. The true duals will sound better as each muffler is 100% dedicated to a cylinder where the 2:1:2 blend the pulses.

Let me see if I understand this corretly, if your replacement header has locations for the O2 censors you don't need to remap or upgrade to a fuel management system for exhaust and breatherl
