V&H Power Duals vs. Rinehart True Duals, 2010 Limited

So is having the power duals in place akin to having the "cat" in place in terms of the sound coming from the engine? I like what the bikes sound like without the cat, but I also like being able to crank on it when I have to.
In fact I am now deciding between the V&H Power Duals, and the V&H Dresser Duals, sorry if I'm confusing the issue, what would be the difference between these two?

None of the options have the cat so they will all produce a deeper tone with a little more growl. That said it comes down to performance while not all pipes are the same they usual produce power in order of style.

best = 2 into 1 pipe
better = 2-1-2 pipe (power Duals)
Good = 2 into 2 True Duals

If you go with true duals, you will lose very little torque and hp compared to the 2-1. If you are chasing #'s and goin for times, then 2-1 is your choice. Remember, doin all these mods require a good tuning to work right, whether you get a fuel management setup or dyno at the dealer. Then you start opening up a large can of worms!

I should have said get a fuel management setup and tune yourself, or buy one and have the bike dyno'ed by someone who really knows what they're doing. Adding the exhaust on to your bike right now will be ok, it will run lean, and your ECM will adjust for it. You will eventually want to do what I already said. Enjoy!

Mine came with the Ventilator High Flow Air cleaner and I added the pipes. It ran fine (Although Lean) last season.

No need for a tuner on O2 sensor controlled post 07 bikes as the factory ECM will adjust for the airflow changes with new pipes and / or air cleaner.

I waited until I added the cams to instll the TTS tuner and remap it.
Fueling Reaper 574 Cams and lifters. Now she runs cooler and breathes properly.

A tuner will help even a stock bike but first the Cat needs to go on the 2010's and up

I just put the V&H Power Duals w/Rinehart 4", SE Heavy Breather and PCV. I am more than pleased with looks and performance. And yes, you do need the left muffler bracket if you currently have 2-1 exhaust.

I have been told my 2010 FLHTK does not have a cat(michigan bike) but the stock 2-1-2 collector does have baffles in it. I was told all they have to do is nock the baffles out, slip-ons, s.e. cleaner and sert and I'm good to go. Anybody out there can confirm this, know anything about removing the baffles.

the 2010 flhtk "does" have a cat......I went with dresser duals and monster ovals and love the sound, the look, and the reduction in heat....I was thinking about power duals; the deal killer was they didn't come in black.....

hey Yellowbird........
how did you get away with not installing a fuel management system on your '09 CVO RG after installing the true duals?? I have just installed Bassani inverted tip slip-ons right now because the dealers said you can do that w/o a remap......BUT if you put diufferent headers on to get rid of the catalyst header you will need to add 'something' or the bike will run way too lean. Nobody has told you that? thanks
