Usually how often to disc brakes on bicycles need to be adjusted?

I am thinking about buying a mountain bike with disc brakes. I just want to know how often disc brakes need to be adjusted. I know it all depends but just give me a general idea. Also, i know there are like 2 or 3 diferent types of disc brakes for bicycles so just tell me how often each kind of disc brake needs to be adjusted so i can decide if its worth it getting a bike with disc brakes. just give me a straight answer and cut to the chase please
 
There are two kind of disk brakes: Mechanicals and Hydraulic. On mechanical brakes, probably about every 2 or 3 rides adjust the pads, probably more depending on how hard you use the brakes. Hydraulic is mostly a set up and forget scenario. The pads automatically adjust to brake wear.
